02 Jun NH Made Maple Syrup
New Hampshire is known for many things: beautiful and ample mountains, the abundance of granite formations, tax-free shopping and possibly our favorite, delicious and locally sourced pure maple syrup. We are one of the few states in North America that have the privilege of making maple syrup and we produce approximately 90,000 gallons each year! New Hampshire is unique in this aspect as there is a diversity of tree species throughout our heavily forested state, including multiple types of maple trees, many of which can be tapped for the sap used to produce the tasty and authentic maple syrup.
Our Steele Hill Resort property is set amongst 500 acres of forested land, including a wide-ranging maple orchard located right onsite. The orchard is situated behind the farm sitting atop Steele Hill Road, just before reaching the resort campus and each year during the early spring period, the maple trees are tapped using an extensive large piping network. We work closely with Tim and Heidi of HT Farm located in Belmont, New Hampshire who are able to set up thousands of taps within the acres of the maple orchards each year. Once harvested, they transport the sap back to the Belmont farm to begin the boiling and filtering process. At the end of each maple season, they are able to produce upwards to 1,000 gallons of organic and pure maple syrup!
Each of our Path Resorts properties carry the exclusive bottles of liquid gold. Whether guests would like to purchase a bottle for a unique souvenir from their memorable vacation to the beautiful Lakes Region or try it on their homemade breakfast made in their suite’s kitchenette OR on their pancakes and French toast prepared by Steele Hill Resort’s Hilltop Restaurant during the weekends, be sure to try HT Farm’s organic syrup during your next Path vacation.
